Frequently Asked Questions
Who is Perfected Claims?
Perfected Claims is your central justice hub. We work with you to gather all the required information your lawyers need first to qualify your case and then to prepare it for trial or settlement. Plus, we’ll assign a case manager to help you navigate every step of the litigation journey. With Perfected Claims, you’ll always receive timely communication, clear next steps, and transparent updates about your case. You can trust that we’ll be with you every step of the way.
How long does the litigation process take?
There is no set or “typical” timeline for mass tort claims. Mass tort lawsuits are complex endeavors; they often involve many claimants and an intensive information-gathering process. While each will be evaluated individually, gathering all required information and going through the legal process takes time, and can take anywhere from two to several years. Our team is dedicated to keeping you informed and confident throughout the litigation process.
How much is my claim worth?
Each claim is evaluated individually, and there are many variables for compensation. While many mass tort lawsuits involve risk and damages, it is too early in the litigation process to estimate how much your individual case might be worth. At Perfected Claims, it is our goal to empower claimants with as much information and support as possible, enabling our law firm partners can build the strongest defense — to achieve maximum justice and recovery.
Am I responsible for paying legal fees?
In most cases, you and any other plaintiffs in a mass tort lawsuit will not pay attorney fees unless you win the case. Law firms are paid under a contingency fee agreement, and will only be paid if your case receives an award either via a settlement or from a jury verdict in a court trial. Many cases are settled out of court through negotiation or mediation, and may not go to trial. If for some reason your case does not result in a settlement award, you will owe nothing.
How can I track the progress of my case?
Once your case is set up in our system, you’ll receive an email from us with your login information to access the Perfected Claims portal. This portal will allow you to track the progress of your case, upload and access important documents, and stay updated on any case developments.
