Head of Legal Operations

Biography

Douglas Boxer has over 30 years of experience in law, politics, and government.  Mr. Boxer began his career with the San Francisco law firm of Hanson, Bridgett, Marcus, Vlahos, and Rudy. He left the law firm to pursue public service, where he served in Washington, DC at two cabinet-level, federal departments – the Department of Health & Human Services and the Small Business Administration.

He continued this government service in the Los Angeles Mayor’s office as Director of Intergovernmental Affairs, where he helped secure millions in federal grants for police hiring and administered millions of dollars in federal funds for earthquake recovery. In his capacity, Mr. Boxer also worked to recruit new businesses and retain existing businesses in Los Angeles.

After leaving public service, Mr. Boxer ran his own government relations and public affairs firm, serving California-based businesses for over 20 years.

In 2017, Mr. Boxer returned to the practice of law and, since then, has worked on behalf of individuals, families and business-owners who have been devastated by the bad acts of others. In this vein, he helped lead the effort to hold California-based investor-owned utilities, like Pacific, Gas & Electric, accountable for damages caused when equipment owned by those utilities started a series of devastating wildfires throughout California. He is part of the legal team that represents over 16,000 Camp Fire victims and survivors as well as clients in the Zogg and Bobcat fires. Mr. Boxer also serves on the Committee that provides oversight to the $13.5 billion Trust that is responsible for compensating 70,000 fire victims and survivors from the PG&E-started wildfires in 2017 and 2018.

Mr. Boxer received his Bachelor of Arts degree in International Political Economy from the University of California, Berkeley and his law degree from the University of San Francisco School of Law, where he graduated cum laude.

Why did you join Perfected Claims and Why are you so passionate about the work we do?:

As a lawyer, it can be hard to find a career where you are doing work that is meaningful and makes your family proud.. I joined Perfected Claims to meet both of these objectives.

My passion stems from our ability and track record of helping people overcome harm caused by no fault of their own.
